Welcome Chelsea Clingen

Skritswap is pleased to announce that Chelsea Clingen has joined the team as of November 2017. Chelsea brings some serious organization skills and we are pleased to have her on the team:

Chelsea is an experienced Administrative and Executive Assistant, with work experience at the Township of Johnson and previously for the Port of Algoma. Her freelance journalism work has landed her publications in the North Shore Sentinel, the Sault This Week, and the Charlatan. She has studied Journalism and Communications at Carleton University and graduated with a BA Honours in History from Algoma University. In 2009 Chelsea was awarded the Steven Hills Memorial Award, was nominated for ACT Female Athlete of the year in 2010, and was awarded the Sault Ringette Club Bill Claringbold Family Award in 2016. <<< EDIT THIS TO MATCH THE EDITED VERSION ON THE MEET CHELSEA PAGE

We asked her some key questions to get to know her more and about what makes her so excited to join the skritswap team:

1) Tell us a little bit more about you as a person and what you enjoy.

Personally, I enjoy the simple things life has to offer, and I love new experiences and adventures.  I’m heavily involved in the sport of Ringette, I’ve played since I was 6 and have been coaching for 6 years. It’s a huge passion for me, and I’m lucky enough to still be playing competitively and to be able to give back to the sport that’s brought me so much. I also love to be creative, as I spend a lot of my time painting, scrapbooking, and with other various art forms. I also love a good history book and expanding my knowledge.

2) What are you most excited to work on at skritswap?

I’m excited to research and recap the company’s history. I can’t wait to learn more about the company and how it came to be what it is today.

3) Why did you want to join the skritswap team?

I wanted to join the skritswap team because of Melissa’s evident passion and determination towards the business. The idea of bringing the gift of literacy to whoever may need it is brilliant, because why can’t everyone understand the necessities?

4) What is a cause in the world that you are really passionate about?

I think that everyone should give back to the places and people that may have helped get where you are today. Give back to you parents, volunteer at the soup kitchen or donate to the hospital. I also think that everyone should complete one random act of kindness a day, you might just make someone’s day and create a chain reaction. Something so simple could create huge waves.

5) Where do you want to see skritswap in 3 years?

I see skritswap heavily evolved in 3 years, with a beautiful office and passionate employees. The business will have grown in many ways, including financially and socially. The client base will also be remarkable. I can’t wait to see how this company grows and flourishes.
